Vonyx 1000W vs JBL PartyBox 710 for Weddings

DIY weddings in Melbourne are increasingly popular, and choosing the right audio is critical for both the ceremony speeches and the reception dance floor. Our two most popular options are the Vonyx 1000W system and the JBL PartyBox 710. Here is how to choose between them.

When to Choose the Vonyx 1000W

The Vonyx 1000W system is a dual-speaker setup. You get two speakers that you can place on opposite sides of the room. This is the best choice if you are having a sit-down dinner in a wide hall. It allows you to spread the sound evenly across the room at a lower volume, so guests can still talk while the speeches or background music are playing.

When to Choose the JBL PartyBox 710

If your wedding is highly focused on the dance floor, the JBL 710 is the winner. While it is only one physical speaker, its 800W output is heavily tuned for deep, club-style bass that the Vonyx cannot match. Additionally, the built-in, elegant light show adds instant atmosphere to the dance floor once the lights go down.

Microphone Integration

Both systems support wireless microphones effortlessly. However, the JBL 710 has dedicated dials on the back for fine-tuning microphone gain, bass, treble, and echo, making it slightly more user-friendly for whoever is MCing the wedding.

Universal Speaker Setup Tips

  • Power Supply: Always plug high-wattage speakers directly into a wall outlet, avoiding cheap power boards.
  • Placement: Keep speakers out of direct sunlight and away from areas where drinks might be spilled.
  • Connectivity: Download your playlists offline to ensure uninterrupted music if the venue's Wi-Fi drops out.
