How to Connect a Wireless Microphone to a JBL PartyBox

Step-by-step guide to connecting wireless mics to a JBL PartyBox 710 for wedding speeches, announcements, and karaoke.

Step 1 — Find the Mic Input

Look at the back panel of your JBL PartyBox. You'll see two large 1/4-inch (6.35mm) jack inputs, labeled Mic and Mic/Guitar. The wireless receiver from your mic kit plugs directly into either of these ports.

Step 2 — Plug in the Wireless Receiver

Our JBL wireless mic add-on includes a small receiver unit. Plug this into the Mic port on the back of the speaker, then turn on both the receiver and the handheld microphone. They pair automatically — no settings needed.

Step 3 — Adjust the Gain Dial

Above the Mic input is a small Gain dial. Start at 50%. Speak into the mic and slowly increase until you reach a comfortable volume. Never jump straight to 100% — high gain causes feedback squeals. For karaoke, try the Echo dial at around 20–30% for a fun vocal effect.
